December 2nd, 2021 is a special date, a rare palindrome and ambigram combination.
When written out as 12/02/2021, it reads the same left to right, right to left, and upside down!
On this day we team up with underground Australian artist Tabula Rasa and raid his hard drive for some beautiful and deeply personal moments of auditory expression. Something different, something rare, fitting for this moment in time. This young producer has been grinding away for years in the studio, occasionally letting a earth shattering drum and bass weapon or some sublime hip hop tracks escape under different aliases and collaborations.
“Volor” is an instant classic, it’s melodies and edits influenced by the originators of the IDM sound. “With You” encapsulates smokey jazz percussion and dreamy layers inside of future downtempo container, then Corti rounds out the trifecta with a proper Lo-Fi groove. Each track is completely different in sound but somehow also contains a cohesive emotional resonance throughout.
